Palliative Care Fellowship program

VCU Massey Cancer Center offers a one-year fellowship training program in hospice and palliative care medicine with the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care in the Department of Internal Medicine at the VCU School of Medicine. The program is led by Laurel Lyckholm, M.D., Page Professor of Bioethics and Humanities.

The fellows learn palliative care techniques through direct patient care on the Thomas Palliative Care Unit, at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, through the palliative care consultation service and in the supportive care clinic. The fellowship provides training in long-term care and geriatrics and focuses on ethics and goals of care.
